Program Specialist LIP Credentialer

Duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinates the credentialing and privilege for appointments, reappointments, and change in status of appointments Prepares the C&P appointment package to the medical staff applicant for completion Maintains liaison with professional licensing boards for all 50 states in verifying current, full, and unrestricted licensure Prepares recurring and non-recurring reports Serves as the authority on all matters relative to the Credentialing and Privileging Program Researching , analyzing, and keeping abreast of changes in standards issued by the Joint Commission standards and in VA Central Office Ability to maintain confidentiality of material and/or matters within the practitioners record Ability to work efficiently under pressure Gathering, identifying, and developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems Serves as facility administrator for VetPro, assigning access to the credentialing system, electronic and paper in accordance with security level requirements and the Privacy Act System of Recrods NOtice Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Experience:
GS-7; You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Gathering information, identifying and analyzing issues, developing recommendations to resolve, knowledge of filing system and records management, prepare reports, manages, administers, and ensures maintenance and operations of database systems. Manages, administers, and ensures scrutiny, maintenance and operations of database systems, facility administrator for VetPro, assigning access to the credentialing system, electronic and paper in accordance with security level requirements, Performs complete credentialing process in VetPro, Troubleshoots any problems with staff as well as providers using VetPro for the appointment process OR, Education:
