Social Worker (Local Recovery Program Coordinator)

The LRC will assist in implementation of policies and procedures from the National Recovery Coordinator (NRC) and facilitate implementation of recovery oriented services in Mental Health programs, which includes education of providers and veterans and their families on recovery and evaluation of implementation efforts. LRC functions as a champion and advocate for the recovery model. LRC also serves as a recovery ombudsman to the MH Director, program managers, and staff on recovery and implementation of recovery oriented services. In conjunction with the Chief of Mental Health, the LRC develops a plan for the facility that identifies staged implementation of recovery oriented services (e.g., use of recovery plans). LRC is responsible for coordinating the evaluation of recovery implementation at the facility and reporting results to the NRC. With guidance from the NRC, the LRC will implement measures to assess recovery policy and procedure adherence, as well as assess the extent that the recovery model is embodied in the MH programs. Other Duties will include:
Advises MH Chief or program directors on filling peer specialist positions and serves as a consultant to peer support specialists. Assists with VA regional or local recovery oriented trainings, meetings, or conferences as needed. Serves as a MH Liaison to the facility Consumer Council. Provides an annual report on implementation progress to the VISN RC and the NRC; other reports will also be prepared as requested. Meets quarterly via conference call with other VISN LRCs to coordinate a network response to recovery implementation and implementation of CO policies and procedures related to recovery. Participates in facility MH leadership meetings and policy planning groups. Identified as the facility POC for SMITRECC SMI Re-Engagement Project. LRCs are also expected to spend a percentage of their time (but no more than 25%) engaged in direct clinical services providing recovery oriented care and outreach to veterans. May be assigned the responsibility for providing coordination within the VISN and serving as a Point of Contact to the National Recovery Coordinator and National Recovery Advisory Committee. Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Social Worker (Program Coordinator), GS-12 (1) Experience and Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. (2) Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. (3) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs:
(a) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. (b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. (c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. (d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). (e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. References:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
